Ray Nargis is a semi-retired College English Instructor and Public
School Administrator, who moved to Ely in 2002. Ray grew up on a horse
ranch in Ludington, Mich. and went to college--twice! B.A. in
Journalism/English from Central Michigan University and an M.A. in
Creative Writing from Michigan State University.
Starting in 1976, Ray began performing storytelling, oral history and
oral poetry recitations,and has made over 2,000 public apperances in
the last 34 years. He started "The Pathways Program" the Sunday after
Super Bowl 39 in 2005 (Patriots 24- Eagles 21).
When not at home writing, Ray divides his time between visiting his
sons in Chicago and San Francisco, a small cabin in Ontario and a
small island off the coast of Mexico. He likes Italian food and good
conversation.
